Sounds good. So, I assume my signing is vald. Thanks for clarifying that. I was under the impression that a player had to be signed before we could draft him. Your signing is valid based on the rule in place.....I am open to revisiting it, but that won't affect your signing. Players don't have to be signed. There are a few players taken in our draft (Max Scherzer for one) that remain unsigned.

IMHO, after reading the posts in this message, I don't think the rule needs to be revised. Season to season seems to be the right way to go.

I think we need an unquestionable black and white rule.
Are we saying that Opening day is the cut off?
Anybody signed between the first day of the draft and opening day is "first come first serve"..(ie: Saito)...Anybody signed from opening day through the beginning of the draft is draft eligible (ie: amatuer draftees)?

Check what I revised in the league rules and let me know if you think that may need some revision.
"If a player chosen by an IYFBL team that was drafted in the MLB free agent draft does not sign a professional contract prior to the next MLB draft, the rights to the player are lost by the IYFBL team and the player is subject to the next year's IYFBL draft. If an international player drafted in the IYFBL draft has not signed a professional contract prior to the start of the season the team will lose the rights to the player and the player will be subject to the next year's IYFBL draft. Japanese and Korean players do NOT have to be posted to be drafted in the IYFBL draft, however, they must be posted and SIGNED prior to the start of the season or the team loses the rights to them and the player is subject to the next IYFBL draft."
