I was informed that we could be at 45........plenty of other rosters in the DB are over 40 45 is the magic number ... just watch so you don't go over or you are doing someone else' research ;D The other magic number being 5 - the number of created players you will be allowed to carry including this year's draftees!

I realize this.....my roster is currently at 45.......5 of those being created players.......of those 5 that were just created, I bet 4 of them show on the projections disk, so I'll carry them on my 40.
Am I missing something here??

I was informed that we could be at 45........plenty of other rosters in the DB are over 40 You only get 40 players. The other 5 spots are DRAFT SPOTS only. So, for now, if you want those added 5 spots filled, then they must be filled by 2006 players. Gerardo Parra etc. are not an '06 players, so they need to be on your 40 man roster. You can sign those players, but you must cut some to sign some, unless they are 2006 players, like Scott Sizemore for example. When I said sign "anybody" you want, I meant to your 40 man roster, by cutting other players. Also, Rich is a little softer during the winter because we don't know who will make the disk, but you do yourself a disservice signing too many more than 5 "created players", because all you do is expose them to other GM's, when you can't keep them. Also, in this "Win-now" league, you will find nobody wants to trade for players below AA ball. Plus, Rich simply does not want to spend all day creating players that probably won't be in the SIM.

We had this conversation last year.
It doesn't matter how many uncarded players you have on your roster during the offseason.
As long as, come opening day, your team has no more than 40 projectable guys, and no more than 5 "created" players.
This came up last offseason because there's no way to really know who won't make the projection until the disc is released.

To a point. If someone has alot of created players on their roster in the offseason we will have a conversation about the direction of their club.

Transactions complete and in the database.
For future reference, per the rules, waiver claims/signings are not valid without stating in the same post who you are dropping or if you have an open roster spot. If the form of the transaction is not correct and another GM posts a valid signing they will get that player.
This is in place because I will not make any roster assumptions for GM's.
