Regular Season
The regular season of the IYFBL is played off the Zips projections which are released prior to opening day. Games are centrally simulated daily and box scores are emailed to all GM's.
Rosters
Regular Season rosters shall consist of up to 40 players, 25 of which must be active and not on the IYFBL (&MLB) disabled list.
Active rosters with lineups, staffs, etc., ("MP" - Manager Profile) may be submitted to 'Admin' at any time (iyfbladmin@gmail.com).
Disabled/Retired Players
The IYFBL has a volunteer Disabled List enforcer that tracks injured players. Players on the MLB DL will be placed on the IYFBL DL for that same amount of time. Each day, the volunteer posts the players put on the DL and those to come off.
The 'Admin' will deactivate those players each day prior to simming. The 'Admin' WILL NOT activate those players who are to come off the DL. It is each GM's responsibility to submit a lineup with 25 healthy players.
*Do not activate a player when you read somewhere else that he has been activated. Only activate said player after the volunteer has posted him to come off the DL in our daily email. This is do to the generally 1 day lag in our DL times of that of MLB.
It is understandable with this process that GM's may be away from the computer for a day or so and may be stuck playing with 23-24 players. This is one of only 2 major responsibilities IYFBL GM's have, and that is to have 25 active players sent in at the first available moment (the other major responsibility is drafting).
Retired or released players will also be treated like DL'd players.
Trades
In order to process a trade, all participating trade partners must confirm via email to Admin (iyfbladmin@gmail.com) on the parameters of the deal. In the IYFBL, GM's are allowed to run thier teams as they wish, so most deals are generally approved.
The exception is that if Administration perceives to be detrimental to a ballclub and possibly jeopardize the integrity of the league, can be put to a league wide vote.
Waiver Wire
Players released by teams go on waivers for 24 hours from the time the transaction is complete and are subject to the waiver priority system. At the end of the 24 hour period the player becomes a free agent. the waiver order will be updated monthly during the regular season based on record with the teams with the worst record at the top.
All Star Game
The IYFBL All-Star game winning league, will determine the World Series home field advantage, as it is done in MLB. If for any reason the IYFBL failed to produce an All-Star event, such has happened before here and in other leagues, then we would use the MLB outcome.
New Player Draft
After the release of the Final Zips projections, we will have a "Live Draft" that will consist of 5 rounds.
The draft order is determined by ranking IYFBL teams in order of increasing winning percentage from the previous season. The first pick will go to the team with the lowest winning percentage from the year before, the second pick to the second lowest winning percentage and so on. This continues through the last pick in the 1st round, going to the team with the best winning percentage.
In the event of identical winning percentages, the team with the worse winning percentage over the previous two years will draft first.
*During the first couple years of SIM only player drafts (started in '09) there will be no draft pick trading, although teams will be allowed to trade said players within days of draft day. Admin is interested in reinstating draft pick trading in the future, as the new system develops.
Winter League
*The winter league has been postponed for the couple year transition to SIM only players. We will look to have it again in the winter of 2010-11.
The Winter League season of the IYFBL is played off the DMB season disk which is shipped in mid December. The season will start in January and be played on an accelerated schedule to complete the season before Spring Training.
