Not looking to piss anyone off or say this needs to be rejected. I just want people to weigh in on some offers i have put in front of people that were rejected and said they werent interested in.
Pujols, Wainwright and Fields for K. Escobar, Luis Castillo and Casey Kotchman .... Denied said that Carmona would have to be involved in the deal ....
next offer was for Pujols straight up for Carmona and Kotchman .. denied said he didnt care for Kotchman and that he had a better deal on the table.
Now looking at the two deals he took i am just misunderstanding some things. If you guys think my offers were no where near what he got, I want to hear it.
Besides we need some bantar on this board anyways.
BRING IT!

Pujols, Wainwright and Fields for K. Escobar, Luis Castillo and Casey Kotchman
Well, here's my response.
Let's assume we can interchange wainwright and marcum here.....so you think a package of:
Escobar, Castillo, and Kotchman is better than Price, Hochevar, Loney, and Encarnacion???
I'll take the latter.....

And you can take that "ladder" right to the bottom of the league

What is Josh Fields chopped liver?
In the context of this league with limited roster spots, Carmona and Kotchman was a much better offer. Rebuilding through prospects is not going to be an easy road for you, particularly when Colorado was already a competitive team.

Competitive team??? Then why are they picking 9th in the draft??
I wish my entire season was spent playing Oakland.....that would be fun.

Col is picking 9th because they are in a division with SD, SF and LA. Not going to help your cause sending Pujols to SD.

Playing me? Are you serious?
I have a top three pitching staff in the league, if not THE top.
Not Starters alone but a complete pitching staff, top to bottom.
What do you have now? Prospects that wont even play, nice. Sure maybe 5 years from now you might have a team, but thats a long ways out man.

Price and Hochevar will get a projection this year.....maybe not a good one.
Price will lead the rotation in 09....along with Halladay, Lowe, Hochevar, Fautino de los Santos, and Shawn Hill.
My bats.....Dunn, Loney, Encarnacion, Navarro/Montero, Kearns, Andruw Jones.....
I'll be just fine

Loney is far superior to Kotchman.
Castillo looks like he has leg braces on when he runs now. It's a matter of time before he goes from 2nd place hitter to 8th place hitter.
Escobar is your prototypical #2 starter.....But many think he's peaked. Price has #1 potential, and Hochevar could be just as good as Escobar in 2-3 years.
The win-now approach would have been to take Escobar, but the Rockies are clearly looking at 2009, the Padres offer is clearly the more valuable package for 2009.

I'll take guys that are proven and IN THE BIGS over a "potential" starter anyday of the week

I guess time will tell... And yes....Fields is chopped liver.....I just about couldn't give him away. Cant be the same Josh Fields that hit ONLY 23 HRs in just a 100 games. Plus you play at Coors he could be looking at 40 HRs easy this yr. Dont even know why you would look to deal him if your trying to rebuild or even win now. I'd say the problem is the GM and he needs to go

I'd say the problem is the GM and he needs to go 40 Homers at Coors?? That sounds like a very intelligent thing to say. Do you even look at park factors?? Everyone makes such a HUGE deal about Coors, but the numbers are not really that far off the charts anymore. Would you say the same thing about Fields if he was traded from Baltimore or Cincy?? Check out the link you dumbass, and educate yourself. sports.espn.go.com/mlb/stats/parkfactor
