2006 IYFBL Power Rankings: May 15
RK LW RANK TEAM WL Rec COMMENT
1 4 Padres 28-11 Johan has a 2.50 era, and is currently 4th in era in his own rotation. Only injuries can stop the Padres from running away. Right Halladay?
2 5 Mets 26-13 Manny's 19 HR's is insane, but Mo-Rivera's 2 blown saves in his first 8 chances will have fans in NY calling for Putz to close games.
3 12 Twins 23-15 Dice-K 6-1 2.00 era has been all that's been advertised. Slowey is off to a rough ML debut though.
4 23 B-J's 24-16 When you're scoring 6.4 runs a game, you will win more than you lose.
5 18 Red Sox 23-15 They've given up more runs than they've score, but they'll enjoy being atop of the division while it lasts.
6 19 Mariners 22-16 If they can get some more consistency out of the staff, this team would run away with the AL West.
7 1 Dodgers 22-17 Rocket Cometh..>Sorry Mike Thompson.
8 29 Reds 23-16 When you have Prior (injured) and Chan Ho Park 1-2 5.91 era in your rotation, it's obvious the team has been neglected. Too bad, it's not a bad team either.
9 2 Indians 22-17 Carlos Zambrano 4-1 1.21 era has been everything a GM could ask for.
10 6 Pirates 23-16 Pitt is doing a great job with getting more out of less. The NL Central is wide open.
11 27 Phillies 22-17 When is it time for Leiber to replace Jeff Weaver in the rotation? How about now, since Weaver is on the DL.
12 14 Cardinals 21-17 What's gone right: CoCo Crisp - .310/.374………....What's gone wrong - Tulowitzki - .217/.304
13 7 Giants 21-18 Prince's 1:5 BB/K ratio isn't going to drive in many runs.
14 3 D-Rays 20-18 Edmonds, .226, 2 hr, looks about done, even as a platoon player.
15 17 Cubs 20-18 Alex Gordon .306, 13 hr's, is building a shelf for his ROY award. Beltran .194 & Hafner .232 need to lay off the Chicago hot dogs.
16 30 Royals 21-19 Furcal has a .500 OBP thru the first 28 games (109 ab's). If only Bigbie (.141 avg) wasn't hitting behind him. C'mon guys..only team without a GM.
17 13 Tigers 20-19 Detroit is desperate for one of their vets to step up in the rotation after Webb.
18 10 Astros 19-19 Any GM that loses Carpenter, Anibel Sanchez & Ryan Howard must have walked under a ladder.
19 24 White Sox 18-18 Taking the rotation off of "TIME" could make a difference on the south side. Hamels would agree.
20 20 Nats 18-21 Greinke finally got pulled from the rotation…Kip Wells next? Donald Veal sure hopes so.
21 21 Marlins 17-22 Kazmir 0-3 6.15 might be feeling the effects of being part of a suspect pitching staff.
22 22 Angels 19-21 Loney hitting leadoff, Baldelli hitting 8th? A few adjustments, and LAA has enough talent to catch Seattle.
23 8 A's 15-22 5 out of 9 starters are hitting under .240…Including Cano and Sexson. That's not going to win many games.
24 15 Braves 14-25 The Braves get an A for effort, but until Millwood and Jennings get back, it's going to tough keeping up in the NL East.
25 9 Rockies 15-23 The Line up looks like an All-Star team from 2004. Why is Adam Dunn sitting the bench, and isnt' Juan Rivera (.407 9hr) injured?
26 26 Yankees 15-23 They may think they can stay a float until Kenny Rogers returns, but there are 3 teams that are better in that division.
27 28 D-Backs 12-27 Moving Pedro when he starts his rehab would be a good start toward rebuilding.
28 25 Rangers 15-24 If Humberto Sanchez can come back with a decent projection next year, this team could challenge in the AL West.
29 11 O's 13-27 Losing Jake Westbrook was a big blow to an already weak pitching staff.
30 16 Brewers 9-30 5 teams have given up more runs, no team is even close to the 3.6 runs scored per game. Pay attention next month, and see who you want with the first pick in the Amatuer Draft.
